Rare mid-19th century engraving of an ornately framed view of the State House, Boston, as printed by J. & F. Tallis of London, Edinburgh, and Dublin; this image is distinguished by the ornate engraving around the central image as well as the addition of figures and a rider in the bottom left foreground as well as birds in the sky; in nice condition with some peripheral foxing, with cardboard backing and clear film protective wrap, sheet size 17.8 x 26.7cm (7 x 10 1/2in)
Together with 2 rare antique prints on 25.4 x 17.8cm (10 x 7in) sheet, engraved by Henry Adlard (1799-1893) from drawings by John Preston Neale (1780-1847), on one page, for Jones’ "Views of the Seats of Noblemen and Gentlemen, in England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland" 1830; the top engraving is of Wishaw House, Lanarkshire, the family seat of the Bellhavens and Hamiltons, sadly abandoned by 20th century and subsequently demolished; the bottom engraving is of Lee Place, Lanarkshire, also known as Lee Castle located in Auchenglen, the seat of the Lockharts of Lee from the late 13th century until 1919 upon the death of the 5th baronet when the baronetcy became extinct; in very good clean condition with cardboard backing and protective clear film
