Pair of equal arm coinage/gold scales in oval, black enamelled metal case with baize and silk liner; finely chiselled steel beam, gallows, indicator, end caps and pivot points; original stringing to the 4cm(1 1/2in) brass pans, beam is 11.5cm (4 1/2in) long - the case measures 12.5 x 6 x 1.5cm (4 7/8 x 2 3/8 x 5/8in); original 1 Guinea weight included but the obverse is blank, making this set difficult to date
