Titled to the engraved nameplate "William Dempsey Benson", oil on canvas, 87.6 x 61cm (34 1/2 x 24in); housed in a lovely antique frame; Provenance: private collection, London; Eva Theresa Bradshaw, Canadian, 1871-1938; born and raised in London, Ontario, Bradshaw trained with John and James Griffiths, as well as Florence Carlyle; she later studied across the United States, eventually moving back to Canada and exhibiting regularly with the RCA from 1902-1907; this is a rare size and subject by the artist, who is perhaps best known for her still life paintings
