Major acrylic on masonite board depicting the Heathcote Antique Shop, signed lower right, 61 x 91.4cm (24 x 36in); housed in a custom rustic-style frame; John Mattar, Palestinian/Canadian, 1935-2006; the artist moved to Canada in 1957 and graduated from the Ontario College of Art with honors; in 1967, he exhibited at the Art Gallery of Ontario, and the show toured major Canadian cities across the country; in the 1970s, Mattar had a TV show called "Try It", focusing on portrait painting
