"Untitled: River Landscape in Autumn", signed lower right, oil on canvas, 61 x 76.2cm (24 x 30in) - Frederic Charles Vipont Ede, 1865-1943, a prominent Canadian painter, Ede studied at the Ontario School of Arts under George Reid and William Edwin Atkinson, and exhibited at the RCA in 1883 and the OSA in 1884; later in Montreal, Ede studied with Maurice Cullen and exhibited at the Art Association of Montreal Museum in 1889
