A ONCE IN A LIFETIME COLLECTION: For the past several years, Gardner Galleries has had the privilege of offering original works by the talented Inuvialuk Canadian artist Floyd Kuptana (1964-2021), which were acquired directly from Tane Art Gallery, Toronto. Floyd painted for Tane the last two years of his life, and also held a major exhibition in 2020. This session features the balance of paintings by Floyd Kuptana from one of the largest known collections of the artist, and the owner of Tane has also provided Gardner's with several images from the original exhibition. Floyd Kuptana was a true master of colour, with a majestic and whimsical feel to his works. Gardner Galleries is honoured to be handling this collection and thrilled that Floyd is now recognized across Canada and beyond by collectors, galleries and institutions alike, including the permanent collections of Gallery Arcturus, Toronto, The Winnipeg Art Gallery and The Art Gallery of Ontario. We strongly encourage those interested to come by our gallery to view the paintings in person, and take advantage of this final opportunity.

Unless mentioned otherwise, measurements of the image are height by width, frame size not included. Condition reports for any work in this auction is available by contacting our office (condition of frames are never guaranteed). *Please note shipping of larger paintings (typically any work where the painting size exceeds 24 x 30in) is not available through Canada Post.  As well, glass is always removed from the frame prior to shipping to avoid any damage during transport.  Please contact our office for a free shipping quote prior to bidding.
