Titled "The Gentle Day, Clifdon, Eire", signed lower right, oil on masonite, 35.6 x 45.7cm (14 x 18in); Provenance: artist's label verso; Roberts Gallery, Toronto; present private collection, Windsor; Adrian Darley Dingle, born in Wales, 1911, emigrated to Canada at the age of three and settled in Toronto; Dingle studied with J.W. Beatty at the Ontario College of Art, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts; he was also a well respected illustrator, teacher, and probably best known as an exceptional landscape artist; he passed away in 1974 at the age of 63
