A large size castle landscape oil on canvas laid down on board circa 1911 by the important Canadian artist Maurice Cullen (1866-1934), signed with monogram "MC" lower right corner, the canvas measuring 91.4cm x 1.57m (36 x 62in); Provenance: Walter Klinkhoff Gallery, Montreal, inventory number 812; private Canadian art collection, acquired from Walter Klinkhoff

We kindly thank the Klinkhoff Gallery for confirming the authenticity of this work and providing further information in regards to the mural’s origin; as it is well documented, Maurice Cullen was commissioned to paint this and other murals for a large Westmount Montreal estate circa 1911, known as The Davis House, that was erected during 1909; The Davis House was acquired by McGill University circa 1955 and is now the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy
