"Untitled: Mother and Child", appears unsigned, oil on canvas, 91.4 x 71.1cm (36 x 28in); housed in a quality antique frame, outside dimensions 1.18m x 97.8cm (46 1/2 x 38 1/2in); Provenance: from a Toronto estate collection with a distant connection to Granville Leveson-Gower, the 1st Marquess of Stafford; although unsigned, expert opinion has lead the auctioneers to believe that this lovely portrait oil may depict The Marquess' third wife, Susanna, with one of their four children, and painted circa 1770 by George Romney (English, 1734-1802) - offered in the manner of the artist, lacking further documentation
