JAPANESE KOBE DOLL

Vintage mechanical wooden doll made in Kobe, Japan, depicting a man eating fish with elongated mouth when opened, height 10.2cm (4in) - Note: Kobe dolls were produced from the mid-Meiji era circa 1890 until about 1920, and their funny movement and facial expressions attracted the attention of Kobekko and tourists alike
