Titled verso "Polling and Trolling", signed lower right, oil on board, 55.9 x 71.1cm (22 x 28in); Provenance: The Fine Art Gallery, T. Eaton Co. and the artist's studio label verso; John Adrian Darley Dingle, born in Wales, 1911, emigrated to Canada at the age of three and settled in Toronto; Dingle studied with J.W. Beatty at the Ontario College of Art, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts; he was also a well respected illustrator, teacher, and probably best known as an exceptional landscape artist; he passed away in 1974 at the age of 63
