William Perehudoff was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1918 and started to pursue his art career in 1948-1949 at the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center; later, at the Ozenfant School of Fine Arts, New York and the Emma Lake Artist's Workshops, Saskatoon; he began abstract painting in the 1960's, around the same time he became acquainted with Jack Bush; his works are represented in major collections including the National Gallery of Canada and The Art Gallery of Ontario; Perehudoff passed away in 2013 at the age of 94; this is a large scale painting by the artist and an excellent example of his abstract work
