"Virgin Mary" hand-carved wood doll attributed to the 18th century with painted features, the wire-framed body wrapped in jute-like material; some chips and cracks - height 38.7cm (15 1/4in) together with a glazed wood case - when Edna Marie Smale won the Ontario Historical Society Carnochan Award, the Chatham Daily News published an article accompanied by a photo of Edna holding this doll noting it dates from 1795 or earlier
