Titled "Credit River near the Forks", signed lower left and to handwritten label verso, oil on masonite board, 35.6 x 45.7cm (14 x 18in) - Thomas (Tom) Albert Stone, 1894-1978; born in Fownhope, England in 1894, moved to Edmonton in 1914 and Vancouver in 1921, where he studied at the Vancouver School of Art; Stone eventually became the director of the Ontario Society of Artists (OSA) in the 1930's, and painted up until his death in 1978; this is a lovely work by the artist
