Titled "Dance of the Owl", pencil signed and inscribed "Dorset, 1978" to the margin, stonecut and stencil print in colours editioned 48/50, sight 54 x 69.2cm (21 1/4 x 27 1/4in); Kenojuak Ashevak, Canadian Inuit, RCA, 1927-2013; a leading figure of modern Inuit art, Ashevak became one of the first Inuit women in Cape Dorset to begin drawing, and worked in graphite, coloured pencils, felt-tip pens, watercolours and acrylics; her works are displayed in the Art Museum (The University of Toronto), the National Gallery of Canada, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and other major collections
