TWO METAL BUSTS

Two African busts, very likely from Benin, height 38.1cm (15in) and 35.6cm (14in) - Note: Benin and the Benin Kingdom were well-known for busts, sculptures, doors, swords, etc. including sculptures depicting warriors dressed in elaborate headdresses; there are many examples in the British Museum in London as well as in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, including one with a very similar headdress as the sculpture photographed on the left
