From "Bedized Pudding Suite", mixed media print with embossing in colours on Arches paper, pencil signed and dated (19)79 lower right, published by Editions Canada, London, Ontario, image size 77.5 x 55.9cm (30 1/2 x 22in); small glass imperfection upper left; Provenance: this and the next three lots are from the same private London collection, purchased at auction approximately 20 years ago and housed in matching frames; they originally belonged to well-known Canadian artist Rudolf Bikkers, and each are pencil signed by Appel to the lower margin with personal inscription for Bikkers; this set is from the rare Hors d'Commerce edition; Christiaan Karel Appel, Dutch, 1921-2006, founding member of the European avant-garde movement CoBrA and one of the most recognized artists worldwide; this is an extremely rare suite by Appel, the colours are quite striking and vibrant
