FOUR 19TH CENTURY PAGES FROM "GRAMMAR OF ORNAMENT"

Four original pages from the book “The Grammar of Ornament” by the English architect and designer Owen Jones, 1809-1874; published in 1856 as a folio of colour printed pages of various styles of art and architecture; this was the most accurate colour printing of it’s day - titles include "Pompeian No. 3", "Middle Ages No. 5", "Egyptian No. 6" and "Egyptian No. 7", housed in matching 78.7 x 57.8cm (31 x 22 3/4in) shadowbox frames; the consignor noted he had these mounted in these frames approximately 40 years ago
