Yvonne McKague Housser, 1897-1996, a well-known 20th century Canadian artist and educator who first exhibited her work with the Royal Canadian Academy in 1923; she was an instructor at OCAD (then called the Ontario College of Art), and was a founding member of the Canadian Group of Painters in 1933 after the Group of Seven disbanded; Housser exhibited with the Group of Seven prior in 1928, 1930 and 1931; this is a spectacular oil on board with vibrant colours throughout, a fence in the foreground overlooking rolling hills, a farmhouse and buildings in early autumn near Haliburton and Bancroft, Ontario, just north of the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park
