"Untitled: Northern Lake Scene", original oil on board, 22.9 x 29.8cm (9 x 11 3/4in); Provenance: private London collection, acquired by a direct descendant of the artist; Helen Sanderson Sewell, Canadian, 1905-2001, a well-known 20th century Toronto artist and teacher; she attended the Ontario College of Art, graduating in 1928 with the Governor General's Gold Medal; after teaching at the Art Gallery of Ontario with Arthur Lismer for six years, Sewell traveled to northern Ontario to paint with members of the Group of Seven; she married in 1934 and raised four children, including John Sewell who later became mayor of Toronto
