Pair of re-cast bronze sculptures including "Mercury" the Roman messenger god after Renaissance sculptor Giambologna (French-Italian, 1529-1608) - height 85.7cm (33 3/4in), some minor chipping on marble and "Fortuna" the Roman goddess of fortune after Louis Guillaume Fulconis (French, 1818-1873) - height 75.6cm (29 3/4in), noticeable chipping on marble, one leg and one arm appear to have professional restoration; both figures have one arm raised in an energetic pose supporting themselves on one leg about to take flight and they are both raised onto double sectioned circular and square black marble bases each with a cast bronze centre panel decorated with a raised relief scene
