Hand carved from driftwood and buffalo horn, signed and dated (19)83, also inscribed "From the Citizens of Fort Smith, N.W.T., Dec. 9th, 1983, Northern Raven Head carved out of Buffalo Horn", approximately 14cm (5 1/2in) high; the base measures 24.1 x 20.3cm (9 1/2 x 8in) - Sonny MacDonald, 1939-2021, a Canadian artist originally from Chipewyan, Alberta, eventually resided in Fort Smith where he was a well-known community member
