A rare original tinted lithograph with later delicate hand colouring, entitled "Suez General View" published at London on March 15, 1856, by Day and Son, Gate Street, Lincoln-in-the-Fields; this striking image is Plate 124 from a collection "The Holy Land, Syria, Idumea, Arabia, Egypt, and Nubia", made from a painting by David Roberts (1796-1864), signed David Roberts R.A., a Scottish painter, and whose images were made from sketches he made at the scene during tours from 1838 to 1840 - in immaculate condition, mounted in tasteful beige mat and wrapped in clear protective film - image size 13cm x 20cm (5 1/8 x 7 7/8in)
