A very rare original antique print engraved by Freeman from a work by William Henry Brooke (1772-1860), a British artist and illustrator whose works were exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1810 and 1826; Samuel Freeman (1773-1857) was a London-based engraver who specialized in stipple engraving as exhibited by extraordinary detail of this image; beneath the image title is the description of the scene: "The Duke of Wellington now orders the whole line to move forward… ….Nothing could be more beautiful. The sun which had hitherto been veiled, at this instant shed upon us his departing rays, as if to smile upon the efforts we were making and bless them with Success"
Affixed to the rear of the rear of the matt is the print of the key to the image with a drawing of the scene beneath which is an Alphabetical listing A to P describing elements of the various forces and principal figures; in very good condition mounted in maroon matt and wrapped in clear protective film, image size 14.6 x 21.6cm (5 3/4 x 8 1/2in)
