A rare example from the mid to late 19th century, in an elegant design with large 15.2cm (6in) diameter magnifying glass, lift-top door and easel used for viewing photographs, cabinet cards, stereoviews and portrait miniatures which were popular at the time - the cabinet measures 9.5 x 35.6 x 21.6cm (3 3/4 x 14 x 8 1/2in) when closed, overall excellent condition, museum quality; made with a combination of satinwood, walnut and ebony
