VERY RARE PAIR OF WINE BOTTLE CAGES, CIRCA 1800

Pair English "Old Sheffield Plate" wine bottle cages made circa 1800, the foliate embossed cages were seemingly designed to allow for a wine bottle to slide or coast securely when set within their respective associated coasters; one cage measures 10.8cm (4 1/4in) high, the other 8.3cm (3 1/4in), together with an associated pair of bottle coasters which measure 5.7cm (2 1/4in) high x 17.8cm (7in) diameter; also with burl walnut interior bases; some areas of rubbing noted
