Heavy oak marriage chest or casson with exquisite carved decoration and paw feet retaining original iron strap hinges; purchased by the Seips at a European castle sale (along with Lot 180) where it was attributed to the 17th century; some age-related surface wear - 27 1/2 x 67 x 20 1/2in - this piece was illustrated several years ago in a newspaper article about the Seip's collections
