A very early example dated 1611, an early 17th century Debt Bond on vellum, sheet size approximately 12.7 x 28.6cm (5 x 11 1/4in), the bond is written in Latin on one side and the condition of repayment in English on the other; written on both sides - Note: a debt bond is a promise to repay money loaned, in this case George Boraston of Heaver in the county of Kent was lent two hundred forty pounds by Charles Cox of Beckly, Sussex
