1846 SIGNED & WAX SEALED DOCUMENT

Handwritten November 18, 1846 affidavit from a U.S. ship, the "Lawrence", entering Freetown, Sierra Leone, signed by the Consul of Hanover and Bremen and also with red wax seal and two paper seals, sheet size 31.8 x 19.1cm (12 1/2 x 7 1/2in) - what makes this document interesting is that American ships were not allowed to enter this part of Africa at the time, but the "Lawrence" apparently wanted to enter the port to make repairs
