Autographs, autographed books and ephemera assembled by the late Ivan Kasiurak of London, Ontario. Ivan was very well known in London, always ready with a witty quip or joke and often a candidate for the mayor's office. Ivan would send letters to celebrities (and those he hoped might some day become a celebrity) citing his military background and including a magazine, newspaper clipping or magazine cover to be autographed. Accompanying the letter was often a request for their "greatest achievement". As this collection attests, most acquiesced to Ivan's overtures, and although some could or would not autograph his item, they would send him an autographed professional (studio) photo. There was a minority who refused to sign anything (President Reagan, Queen Elizabeth II, etc.) and instead sent facsimile photos and/or facsimile autographs. The auctioneers have grouped all known facsimiles, rejection letters and other ephemera in one lot. Also surprising is the number of very prominent people who took time from their busy lives to respond personally to Ivan.
